Brook Green Hotel cellar barPHP London held a special free pre-conference meeting (in addition to their regular monthly events), on Thursday 26th February 2009 in the cellar bar of the Brook Green Hotel, a 15 minute stroll from the conference venue and near both Hammersmith and Shepherd's Bush tube stations.

Derick RethansThe social started from 7pm and at 8pm there was a PHP London-style presentation from PHP contributor Derick Rethans, and the main event speakers and organisers arrived after their pre-conference dinner.

A post-conference social event, with a bar tab sponsored by MySQL/Sun, took place at the conference venue after the main schedule finished on Friday February 27th 2009, and festivities continued back at the Brook Green Hotel after the conference centre closes at 7pm, where light snacks were provided for all who came along.
