MongoDB is an open source, document-oriented database designed with both scalability and developer agility in mind. Instead of storing your data in tables and rows as you would with a relational database, in MongoDB you store JSON-like documents with dynamic schemas. The goal of MongoDB is to bridge the gap between key-value stores (which are fast and scalable) and relational databases (which have rich functionality).
PHP and MongoDB are a perfect match. Many PHP applications can benefit from MongoDB's ease of use; from its schemaless, document storage engine to a powerful query language. MongoDB is easy to scale and use making it a perfect companion to web applications written in PHP. 10gen (the initiator, contributor and continual sponsor of MongoDB) supports the development of the MongoDB PHP driver.

With a staff of software engineers, they are continuing on that trajectory. Their hosting spans £15 per month servers to multi-site managed projects with high uptime guarantees.

DBVu is a centralised database monitoring and performance analytics service (think Google Analytics [tm] but for databases with helpful advice when problems are found) each server monitored will be available through a dashboard with overview graphs that are suitable for management and drill-down information suitable for more technical users. So DBVu is providing remote DBA services.
The customer needs to install an open source simple set of scripts that are securely polled by DBVu, the script then connects back to DBVu via SSL and pulls all the required database data, connects to the database servers, builds an XML file which is sent back to DBVu for analysis. The client requires zero maintenance after install and uses very low resources.
