The PHP UK Conference 2012 is being held at the Business Design Centre, 52 Upper Street, Islington, London N1 0QH.

Business Design CentreBusiness Design CentreSituated in Islington, one of London's most vibrant areas, the Business Design Centre is located within 2 miles of both the City and the West End, and is ideally situated for both transport and local entertainment.

Within walking distance of Angel tube station and only minutes from Kings Cross and Euston, it is serviced by numerous bus routes and are conveniently located outside the congestion charge zone.

The venue benefits from on-site car parking, an adjacent Hilton Hotel, and has full access for those with disabilities.

Islington offers something for everyone and rivals the West End for entertainment, shopping, food and drink. There are over 500 bars, restaurants and cafes in the area, as well as local theatres and many places of interest.

Travel

By tube
Travel to the Business Design Centre by catching an Underground train to Angel, on the east central branch of the Northern Line (black) - on exiting the station, turn right, cross the main road (Upper Street), and continue up to the right, taking the second left onto Berners Road. The BDC is on the right.

Alternatively, the venue is around 15 minutes walk from Kings Cross (on the Piccadilly, Victoria, Circle, District and Hammersmith & City lines and also the east central branch of the Northern line). Walk all the way up Pentonville Road until you reach Upper Street, then continue north past Angel station using the instructions above.

By train
The Business Design Centre is approximately 15 to 20 minutes walk from Kings Cross St. Pancras International, which is a terminus for national and international rail services. Euston is also within 30 minutes walk, and both stations have underground services on the east central branch of the Northern Line that will take you to Angel which is just 5 minutes walk from the venue. Highbury & Islington and Caledonian Road stations are both around 10 minutes walk from the BDC and are on London's northern overground line, connecting to west and east London, whilst Highbury & Islington and Essex Road stations, both around 10 minutes walk from the BDC, are on the First Capital Connect line, connecting to north London.

By bicycle
The Business Design Centre has an on-site car park with space to park bikes.
By car
Please be advised that it is quicker and easier to travel to the venue by public transport.

Located adjacent to the Business Design Centre, the on site car park has 285 spaces with ample reserved spaces for drivers with disabled passes. Charges for cars are £6 for the first 2 hours, £3 per hour thereafter (0800 - 2000), or £1.10 per hour (2000 - 0800) with a minimum stay of 2 hours. Motorcycles are charged at £10 per day. Please note, the car park has a height restriction of 1.9m.

Disabled access

There is ramped access to the building from street level and clear signage around the building advising the best entrance routes. There is also a well-lit, on-site car park, which has clearly indicated disabled parking spaces, and a lift to street level.

Once inside the building, there are a limited number of wheelchairs available free of charge. There is also an induction loop for the hearing impaired, to help with exhibition announcements in communal areas and in the auditorium for conferences. Disabled toilets can be found on every level, which are accessible via the lift in the main foyer on the ground floor.
